The Bon Secours Volunteer Ministry (BSVM) offers young adults a unique opportunity to engage in a life-changing service experience rooted in the values of justice, solidarity, and healing, as exemplified by the Sisters of Bon Secours. Volunteers actively contribute to the sisters' mission of serving the poor, the suffering, and the marginalized, embracing the principles of compassion, liberation, and healing.

BSVM embodies this mission through volunteer service placements in Baltimore, Maryland, and Richmond, Virginia, where volunteers live among the communities they serve. By working alongside those in need, volunteers help address pressing issues such as public health disparities, social inequality, and poverty. Their work—whether through direct service or community-building initiatives—is central to the sisters’ broader efforts to bring about healing and justice for those who are struggling.

The Bon Secours Volunteer Ministry would greatly benefit from receiving the Conquest Graphics 2024 Nonprofit Grant. The grant would help support critical outreach and communication efforts, including the quarterly publication of The Companion, a 12-page newsletter sent to BSVM supporters and alumni. Additionally, we send postcards to encourage college seniors to apply for a volunteer year, and we distribute promotional materials such as bookmarks, stickers, and flyers at recruitment fairs to raise awareness of our ministry. We send personalized birthday cards to alumni to foster a sense of connection and ongoing support for the program. The Conquest Graphics 2024 Nonprofit Grant would enable us to continue these essential efforts, helping us recruit new volunteers, engage with our alumni, and further our mission of healing and justice.
