Our organization uses direct mail to reach out to former donors who have brought us animals in need, during our annual appeal. We send out postcard invitations to those who have brought us wildlife for our wildlife baby shower in the spring, and our Lancaster Extra Give fundraising event in November. Every donor we have receives a handwritten greeting card featuring a photo of one of our animal ambassadors. We also often use yard signs to promote events, and hand out and sell stickers featuring our logo. Sending mailed items, ensures that our older followers, and those not on social media receive our updates and event invitations. There are still a lot of folks around here that have never heard of us! We are constantly getting calls from finders, who never knew we existed, or that our service existed! We want to get the message out that Raven Ridge Wildlife Center is available to all people in Pennsylvania who find injured, abandoned, or orphaned wildlife. And our services are free, as we are donation based. We receive no federal or state funding, and our mission continues thanks to private donors, item donations from community members, and our educational programs- which include live animal ambassadors. We work closely with the PA Game Commission and US fish and wildlife services and often collaborate with them on initiatives and with education at events. This includes lead free alternatives to hunting and fishing (as we receive several birds of prey, waterfowl etc that get lead poisoning from these products), alternates to sticky traps, and how to safely and happily coexist with wildlife. We need the community to know that we are there- every day! Even on holidays. Our volunteers are hard working and dedicated, and passionate about our cause. We are open every day, 365 days a year, working together to provide the best care for these animals. We are one of less than 15 Rabies Vector Species certified wildlife rescues in the entire state of Pennsylvania, and we often receive animals in need from hours away. We specialize in these rabies vector species, and birds of prey. We are currently accepting all wildlife with the exception of bunnies, opossums, and squirrels- due to the fact that we have so many birds of prey.
I think Conquest graphics could help us increase the reach and exposure of our unique and valuable organization through a grant. Direct mail can be very costly, and our funds are really needed for animal care. This includes visits to the vet, xrays, surgeries, the best fresh food and produce, bedding, enrichment, housing, medication, treatments and more. It would be such a great help to offset the expenses of direct mail, and other marketing and promotional products. Did I mention we are always busy? Our executive director, and wildlife rehabber, lives on site and literally NEVER takes a break! We have some big events coming up, and have several each year. They are always free and open to the public. The programs and educational information at these events is invaluable to the public.
