Our mission is to empower and create opportunities for underserved, underrepresented, and minority populations through advocacy, community education, strategic programming, and consultation.

Past print and direct mail usage:

1. Provided posters used for teaching in our Sierra Leone program (live educational events).

• Our primary focus in 2023 was on hypertension as it is one of the leading causes of maternal/infant death in Sierra Leone. This is also true for Black and Brown pregnant people in the United States.
• To assist with language, cultural, and literacy barriers, we created posters that had familiar pictures and Krio words. Our Chief Medical Officer used these as teaching tools for the women who arrived for the Pikin (child) Packs event.

2. Created table covers and banners to publicize the business around the communities we serve.

• This community (Bumbuna) in Sierra Leone is a major thoroughfare for travelers going to different parts of Sierra Leone, so we had banners and posters with our logo and name on them in the surrounding areas to publicize our events.
• We were able to use table covers when registering beneficiaries.

3. Direct mail: introducing ourselves to organizations in the area as a resource with brochures and notecards.

• We created branded brochures and notecards with all of our information to local businesses via direct mail.

We were able to serve well over 300 beneficiaries last year and word of our program has spread, so we expect a much larger turnout this year. Along with that comes additional languages (Mende, Limba, Spanish, Farsi) and needs.

We plan to:

1. Provide multi-language and pictorial representations of breastfeeding, trouble signs during pregnancy, and hygiene care for underserved populations in our US program and our Sierra Leone program.

• Our Chief Medical consultant in the US will be developing these along with some of our advisors and the direct input of the Chief Medical Officer in Sierra Leone.
• These will be used for educational purposes.
• We will need posters, brochures, notecards, and flyers for the local medical centers.

3. Spread the word about our programs and garner support for vulnerable, culturally diverse, and susceptible populations.

4. Create donor cards to assist in supporting our focus on equity and quality care access and mail them to local businesses and people who are in our networks.

5. We need branded tee shirts and paraphernalia for the volunteers.

6. We need educational pamphlets and posters to leave at the places we visit.

Having this grant would provide much needed materials for us to walk out our mission. There will also be a lasting impact as the educational materials will be used annually. We will also be leaving pamphlets, posters, and other print materials in Freetown and Bumbuna. We will also need many more table covers so we can have branded tables at our registration tables.
