At Building Life for Haiti (BLFH), we recognize the crucial role that English proficiency plays in enhancing job prospects and fostering economic independence in Haiti. Our English as a Second Language (ESL) program is designed to equip men, women, and youth with the language skills necessary to succeed in today's globalized world.
In Haiti, English has become a necessity for securing better job opportunities. Many new job openings require proficiency in English, and knowing the language significantly increases an individual's chances of employment. By learning English, our students can:
Increase Job Opportunities: Enhance their qualifications for various job roles that require English proficiency.
Improve Communication Skills: Effectively interact with American businesses and international partners.
Utilize Technology: Navigate the internet to start and manage their own businesses, accessing a wealth of resources and information.
Understand Business Culture: Gain insights into American business practices and cultural nuances, which are essential for successful professional interactions.
The Organization also plans to provide career services to the needy families in the area to help them acquire new life skills and ultimately gain employment. These services will include job training, referrals and job placement assistance; as well as educational services that will include self-improvement courses and GED training. The Organization hopes to fund these programs through a small fee from the participants, grants and other donated revenue.
It is also promoting entrepreneurship and business development, where students will walk out with a complete transformed life. Building Life for Haiti will come up with conferences where speakers will focus on relevant issues that builds and improves one life, like the Bible, medicine and disease prevention.
Through our program, students will learn how to develop concepts and Ideas for new business. They will learn the skills to start a new business and the common pitfalls that new businesses face. Once they know the principles of business and entrepreneurship, they will have confidence in themselves. Our program will focus primarily on what it takes to get a new business off the ground, how to network, gain funding, and sell their ideas. It is well known that small business is vital part of the American economy, driving innovation, grow and prosperity.
